He is coming off of a good season, but he started to struggle more in the last 2 months of the season, giving up more runs. He saw the Rangers twice last season, allowing 2 earned runs in 6.2 innings pitched at home, but he did allow 6 earned runs in 5 innings his only start in Texas. They are going up against a Rangers team that is 0-1 this season after losing 5-2 in their home opener, but they are going to be hungry to bounce back here. Jack Leiter is starting for the Rangers in this game and he has been decent in Spring Training. He went 1-0 in his 3 starts, allowing 8 earned runs in 20.2 innings, but he is also a very inexperienced starter in the MLB. This is only his 2nd season in the MLB and he only got 9 appearances last season. He started in 6 of those 9 appearances and was awful with a 5.44 ERA through those 6 starts. He gave up runs in 8 of his 9 appearances last season and this is a much improved Red Sox lineup that is going to get hits off of him. The Red Sox are going to score runs as Jack Leiter will struggle in this start, but the Rangers are going to be aware they are going to need to score some runs if they want to bounce back with a win. Between these two sides, there will be enough runs in this game to push it over the total.
