Result: Win
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns have had a strong offense for the last few years, but that has not been the case this year. They enter this game ranked 113th in total offense, 102nd in passing, 105th in rushing, and 94th in scoring, putting up just 25.6 ppg. I don't think they will come all that close to their season average as Louisiana has averaged just 19 ppg on the road and Marshall has one of the best defenses in the land. The Thundering Herd are 12th in total yards, 48th against the pass, 3rd against the run, and 17th in points allowed, giving up just 16.2 ppg. Marshall has allowed just 5.0 ppg and 128.5 ppg in their two home games so far. Yes, Mashall has a strong offense, but the Ragin Cajuns have allowed 21 points or less in four of their five games this year. Also helping to keep the scoring down will be a Marshall offense that runs the ball 47.8 times per game, compared to passing just 28.6 times per game. That will limit the possessions for both teams and we do note that Louisiana is 46th in the nation against the run. Lastly, the Under is 39-15-1 in Louisiana's last 55 conference games and 6-1 in Marshall's last 7 home games.
