ASA FREE PLAY ON Arizona +7 over San Francisco, Sunday at 4:25 PM ET - The Cards gave San Francisco all they could handle in both games last year and we expect a similar result here. The Niners won 28-25 @ Arizona last season and 36-26 at home. That second score was extremely misleading as the Cardinals, despite losing by 10, actually led by 3 with under 35 seconds remaining in the game. The 49ers had the much better overall yardage stats in the two games combined but also ran 23 more offensive snaps so the YPP numbers were much closer. Arizona QB Murray played solid in his two match ups vs San Francisco completing 72% of his pass attempts, with 4 TD’s, 0 interceptions, and over 100 yards rushing in the two games combined. Murray also added one of the top WR’s in the league to his arsenal with Hopkins coming over from Houston. San Fran was in the Super Bowl last year but don’t pencil them this season quite yet. It’s tough to repeat as conference champs. In fact, since 2000 we have had 19 NFC Champions. Only 5 of those teams won their DIVISION the following year. The Niners had a great season winning 13 games but won only 4 times the previous year. We realize injuries were an issue but that was still a huge jump for this team. While they will be solid in 2020, we expect the 49ers will take a step back and be a bit overvalued early in the season. Super bowl losers from the previous year have struggled big time in week one with just a 6-15 ATS record the last 21 seasons. On top of all that, divisional underdogs in week 1 that did not make the playoffs last year vs a division team that did make the playoffs are 23-6 ATS since 2003. We’ll take Arizona in this division battle.
