#259/260 ASA PLAY ON 8* Under 46 Points – Minnesota vs Carolina, Sunday at 1:00 PM ET - The Carolina defense has been fantastic allowing just 4.8 YPPG which is 2nd in the NFL. The only game they struggled was @ Dallas which was not surprising as the Cowboys are at or near the top of the NFL in a number of offensive categories. Last week they faced a Philly offense that was averaging 6.3 YPP coming into the game and they held the Eagles to 4.5 YPP and 21 points. If you subtract their game vs Dallas, the Panthers have held every other opponent to less than 5 YPP and an average of just 12.7 PPG. Minnesota’s offense looked solid in their first 3 games but has fallen off a cliff as of late. Over the last 2 games they’ve averaged just 13 PPG and that includes a game vs Detroit, one of the worst defenses in the NFL. They will struggle vs this Carolina defense. The Viking defense has looked much better the last few weeks. After allowing 64 combined points in back to back weeks facing 2 of the top QB’s in the NFl vs Seattle (Russell Wilson) and Arizona (Kyler Murray) they have allowed just 31 points total the last 2 weeks. Their game on Sunday will be vs a Carolina offense that has an OK QB (Darnold) similar to the last 2 weeks and we look for the Minnesota defense to play well. Carolina’s offense isn’t great. Their OK at best. They rank 23rd in YPP and their highest scoring output this year was 28 points vs a Dallas team in a game they had to try and keep up on offense. That won’t happen here. These two teams have combined to play 10 games this season with 70% of those (7) going under the total.
