We feel the wrong team is favored as we have A&M as the better team. The Aggies also closed out the season playing their best basketball winning 5 of their last 6 games including a 56-55 win over this Florida team. Florida comes into this one having lost 4 of their last 7 games. Neither team played well offensively in their only meeting but one thing stood out to us. A&M made only 2 of 18 three point shots for just 11% (Florida made 7 three pointers) yet still won the game. The Aggies are the better defensive team allowing 1.02 PPP in conference play while the Gators allow 1.06 PPP. TAMU is also one of the top offensive rebounding teams in the league ranking 3rd and facing a Florida team that ranks last in the SEC in defensive rebounding. That disparity on the boards didn’t show up in the first meeting but we expect it to in this match up. If we glance at the SEC season as a whole, A&M finished with a +0.0 PPP differential allowing the exact same (1.02) and they averaged offensively (1.02). Florida finished with a negative 0.02 PPP differential in conference play averaging 1.04 and allowing 1.06. The Aggies finished the year with a point differential of +197 and Florida closed out the year with a +152 differential. Getting points here with the better team is a must take for us.
