#909/910 ASA FREE PLAY ON Over 9 Runs – St Louis vs Milwaukee, Tuesday at 8:10 PM ET - These 2 played a very low scoring game yesterday with the Brewers winning 2-0. Each team had their ace on the mound (Burnes & Mikolas) so that was not a surprising outcome. Tonight we expect a high scoring game as we have a huge drop off in starting pitchers. Milwaukee will be going with Gonzalez who was just picked up on waivers from the Twins. He started 2 games for Minnesota this year giving up 6 ER’s in just 7 innings including 2 HR’s. He’s struggled throughout his career with an ERA north of 6.00 in 3 of his last 4 seasons. He’s facing a St Louis lineup that ranks 5th in RPG, 6th in batting average, and 10th in OPS. Prior to last night’s game, the Cards had averaged 6 RPG in their previous 9 games. We expect a huge bounce back from the STL offense after a no show last night vs one of the top starters in MLB (Burnes). The Cardinals will start Flaherty who just came off the 60 day DL a week ago. He’s made one start allowing 2 ER’s in just 3 innings vs a poor hitting Pittsburgh team. He’ll be on a pitch count tonight (around 75) and then will turn it over to an average bullpen that ranks middle of the pack in both ERA and WHIP. We expect Milwaukee to give Flaherty problems early as this offense is now rounding back into form. After hitting a rough patch in early June, the Brewers have now scored at least 4 runs in 8 of their last 10 games. They are averaging 5 RPG over their last 10 and that includes scoring just 2 runs last night and getting shutout vs the Mets in that 10 game stretch. We like this one to go OVER 9 runs.
