#613 ASA FREE PLAY ON Notre Dame +15.5 over North Carolina, Tuesday at 7 PM ET - Too many points in this one with UNC having a huge lookahead game on deck vs Duke and Notre Dame flying under the radar despite their big improvement in the 2nd half of the season. The Irish have won 5 of their last 6 games including back to back games over NCAA tourney teams Clemson and Wake Forest. They’ve risen almost 100 spots in KenPom’s ratings since the end of December / early January. The Irish play great defense (25th nationally in efficiency) and they are one of the slowest paced teams in the nation averaging just 66 possessions per game (339th). They will try and slow this game to a crawl vs the fast paced Heels. ND has been able to control the pace vs other high paced teams keeping their games vs FSU, Louisville, and WF all in the mid 60’s possession wise. They know that’s their only chance at an upset here and we anticipate this will be a low possession game giving more value to the hefty number. The Tar Heels have bigger fish to fry coming up on Saturday vs Duke and they just need a win here, not necessarily a blowout. UNC has played 18 conference games this season and only 2 have come by more than 16 points. Of Notre Dame’s 18 conference games, they’ve only lost 2 by more than 12 points. They slow games down, play good defense, and know how to hang around. We anticipate that here. UNC wins but this isn’t a blowout. Take the points.
