#967/968 ASA PLAY ON Over 8 Runs - Oakland Athletics vs Toronto Blue Jays, Sunday at 4:07 PM ET - The Blue Jays relief pitching has a 4.89 ERA is the highest in the AL and the only team worse in the majors is the Rockies and much of that has to do with home games in Coors Field. In other words, one could easily argue (and we agree) that Toronto's bullpen has been the worst in MLB so far Now add in the fact that Toronto is starting Bowden Francis plus we have a low total (because this is Oakland after all!) the fact is this is a solid spot for an over. Francis has a 9.00 ERA this season working out of the bullpen but has made two starts (both on the road) and now he is on the road again and we expect more troubles for him. The Athletics counter with Mitch Spence and he has been hit quite hard in 3 of his 4 starts. Spence gave up 19 hits in 13.2 innings and opponents hit .293 against him in home games this season and he has a 9.39 ERA in his 3 day game appearances. Recent trending, particularly for the A's, is keeping this total low but the combination of factors we mentioned above will prove that low number to be too low as this turns this into a rather high-scoring back and forth battle.
