#960 ASA PLAY ON San Diego Padres (-140) over Arizona Diamondbacks, Sunday at 4:10 PM ET - The Diamondbacks took game one of this series by a single run. San Diego then won the next two games by a combined score of 23 to 4. The Padres are a big hot, to say the least, at the plate right now! They hold the edge here over Arizona as the Diamondbacks have lost 9 of 15 on the road and they have a pitching disadvantage here too. Arizona is starting Scott McGough here but we suggest making this bet with "action" on the pitchers as he is just an opener and the Diamondbacks are treating this as a bullpen game. That is music to our ears as the Arizona ERA for relief pitching this season is 2nd to LAST in the NL as only the Rockies bullpen ERA is higher. The Padres starters here is Adam Mazur and he has made only one MLB start but it was a solid debut for him and he has had some good seasons in the minors as well. He had a high ERA this season in AAA but this was in the Pacific Coast League where the ERA numbers do trend higher. As Mazur's 18 strikeouts in 19 innings with 21 hits allowed shows, his ERA at AAA was a bit flukey so far this season. Coming off a solid 1st start and on the road, pitching at home should be even more to his liking here! The Diamondbacks are below .500 and have beaten up on some bad teams this season. Against teams at .500 or above, Arizona has struggled. We think we're getting some nice value in laying a reasonable money line in this one and getting a price in the -140 range with the Padres. Great spot to grab the solid value with the stronger team at home and at a fair price! Lay it!
