The Nationals enter today's doubleheader against the Dodgers having won 13 of their last 15, including four in a row. Washington is 7-1 in its past eight home games. The Dodgers have yet to get turned around, a highly disappointing 17-26.

So the lay price is low enough to back righty Max Scherzer. LA is 8-20 in its last 28 games versus a righthanded starter.

The 33-year-old three-time Cy Young Award winner remains in his prime. He is 7-1 with a 1.69 ERA. Washington is 7-0 in his last seven starts.

Rich Hill has been dealing with blister problems again this season. He still is struggling to round into form with a 6.20 ERA. Hill hasn't gone more than six innings during each of his last nine starts. The Dodgers' bullpen has tailed off noticeably this season, part of their current downfall.
