Strictly a value play here. Lance Lynn just can't be this high of a favorite. He has been a disaster through his first eight starts with a 7.47 ERA and 2.04 WHIP. Minnesota is 2-6 in Lynn's eight outings.

Matthew Boyd, on the other hand, has pitched well for Detroit turning in six quality appearances in his eight starts. He has a respectable 3.19 ERA and an excellent 1.06 WHIP.

Detroit has enjoyed success when playing in Minnesota winning 16 of the last 21 times there.
