The Kings are in big trouble - if this game gets played. That's not a sure thing. The listless Kings lost 4-1 to the Avalanche in Denver on Sunday. Even though the starting time was moved up, the Kings still couldn't get out of Denver on Sunday due to a snow storm. So there's a chance this game gets moved to Tuesday. It would be a huge break for the Kings if that were to happen.
The Kings were dealing with multiple players getting sick during the weekend - not COVID-19 related - and had to cancel their Saturday practice. They also didn't have their top scorer and key cog on their power play unit, Dustin Brown. He missed Sunday's game with an upper-body injury.
LA would be playing without rest and for the third time in four days if this game gets played not to mention returning back home much later than expected. Cal Petersen has been sharp in net for the Kings with a combined 81 saves in the past two games. LA, though, might choose to rest him because of the fatigue factor. That would put third-stringer Troy Grosenick in net since Jonathan Quick is injured.
The Blues own the best road record in the West Division at 10-2-2. The Blues are ready to let loose having lost four in a row, three of which occurred in overtime. St. Louis just played two games against Las Vegas so this is a major drop in class.
Star scorer Vladimir Tarasenko is getting near peak form after being out the first 24 games following offseason shoulder surgery. He's produced four points in four games since returning.
