The Dog with Bite is on Tennessee. Game 879 at 7:15 eastern. Michigan and Tennessee take the Court for this electric Sweet 16 match between the BIG 10 and the SEC. Tennessee was Mercer-less in their last game winning by 20 over a Mercer team that managed to ruin a great Tennessee vs Duke matchup, But so goes the tournament and now the Volunteers will get another Big 10 schools after playing their way in against Iowa last week wining in overtime. Michigan is a 2 seed and has not skipped a beat this year despite losing Tim Hardaway Jr and Trey Burke to the NBA. The Wolverines were easy winners in each of the first 2 rounds winning by double digits against Wofford and Texas. This game should be another high scoring affair and is one that should not be missed.
The Technical analysis on this game should not be ignored. However the Vols have pasted the last 2 teams that have played and teams in the sweet 16 round that are off back to back wins of 18 or more points are 22-4 straight up, and dogs in this role are 100% since 2002. The linesmakers are well aware as is the rest of the country that teams seeded 10 or worse are 1-33 straight up vs a 1 or 2 seed in this round. However, the Vols are not one of these smaller conference teams that are happy to be here, they are a 2 point favorite on our simulation models and have won the last 2 times a neutral court dog. They are 4-0 on Fridays and 7-1 ats in March and are on a roll after coming back to beat BIG 10 Iowa. The Wolverines are no great shakes failing to cover 6 of the last 9 vs SEC Teams so we will back the live dog here with Tennessee.
