Both teams have been playing to several higher-scoring games of late, but I expect those trends to end here finally this evening.

The Nationals have now seen the total go OVER the number in four straight after last night's 7-5 series opening win here, while Chicago has now seen the total go OVER the number in six straight (but note that the Cubs have seen the total go UNDER the number in five of their last six in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent.)

Trevor Williams gets the nod for the visiting side and he's 5-5 with a 4.42 ERA, while Jameson Taillon is only 3-6 with a 6.15 ERA for the Cubs.

Two teams hoping for something positive in the second half, and two starting pitchers looking to rebound off uncharacteristic poor first halves.

When you add up all of these factors, I say we finally have ourselves a lower-scoring outcome between these teams.
