Chicago snapped a four-game slide with a 5-3 win at San Francisco last night. I had the Giants on the runline in that one, so it was an unfortunate setback.
That total snuck "over" the number of 7.5, but now here in the opener of this NL series in Milwaukee, I think we'll have a classic "duel" on our hands to kick things off between two very competent starting pitchers.
Milwaukee enters on the other end of the spectrum, No. 1 in the NL Central and on a four-game win streak after sweeping the Rangers at home most recently.
Chicago turns to Jameson Taillon (4-3, 2.90 ERA), while the home side counters with Colin Rea (6-2, 3.62.)
Everything points to these two guys battling deep into the latter frames, and because of that I'll recommend a second look at the "under" in this one.
