This is a 10* GOW on Hamilton.
Montreal is 7-1 after defeating these very Ti-Cats 33-16 at home just last weekend. The Als went on to cover the 4.5-point road spread, but they're now over a TD fav at home, and I think the value has now swung the other way.
And with over 80% of the early public money on the home side to once again just roll over Hamilton, this one also appeals to my contrarian nature as well.
Hamilton is now 2-6. It had won two in a row previous to last week's setback though.
Clearly, Bo Levi Mitchell will have to have a big game here to keep his team competitive. So far the Al's defense has been pretty awesome, but with a tough road game at Saskatchewan next weekend, the possibility of the home side looking ahead is definitely on the table.
Cody Fajardo is once again expected to sit this one out, and while young QB Davis Alexander was good in relief in Week 8, the Ti-Cats now have some film to work with and throw something else at the rookie.
The Als are in fact 7-1 ATS the last eight in this series, but now I think this spread is TOO large.
I'm not calling for the outright upset, but I expect Mitchell to keep his team competitive here now and for the visitors to, at the very least, earn the comfortable cover with the large spread that they've been afforded. The play is HAMILTON.
Good luck, NP
