This is a 10* BK on the UNDER Kraken/Leafs.
As a primarily situational capper, I'm keeping my eyes out for these types of games throughout the course of the long regular season.
I handicap the start and ends of seasons differently than I do the bulk of the regular season. I also cap the playoffs differently than I do the rest.
Regardless, this one falls right into my "wheel-house" so to speak as far as being a great "situational play" on the UNDER.
Seattle broke a three-game slide with an 8-2 wint Montreal last time out, but previous to that had lost 4-1 to Carolina and had seen the total go UNDER in three of its previous four.
Lets expect the Kraken to come back down to Earth here in Toronto, which just broke a three-game skid with a 6-4 win at Winnipeg two nights ago. The Leafs have seen the total go OVER in five straight now, but note that dating to last season Toronto has seen the total go UNDER in four of its last five after playing to five or more straight OVERs in a row.
With another tough set of games upcoming at St. Louis and Minnesota, followed by a home game vs. Boston, Toronto can't afford to "look past" the potentially dangerous Kraken.
The overall situation, combined with the numbers/trends do all indeed point to the UNDER as the correct call as far as the total is concerned in my opinion.
