Result: Win
This is an 8* PUCK-LINE DESTRUCTION on the Detroit Red Wings.
Detroit has lost six straight and I think will take full advantage of a Buffalo team that arrives in town riddled with injury. Most recently the Wings lost 2-1 in a shootout to Colorado on Sunday: "We need to find a way to score goals," Detroit coach Mike Babcock confirmed last night. "We had lots of opportunities and didn't finish. We need to find a way to get the second point. Two adds up better than one." The bounces simply haven't been going Detroit's way, it would in fact outshoot the Avs 35-23. The Red Wings will also be motivated to snap an 0-4-1 stretch at home, their longest run of futility at Joe Louis since 2013. Buffalo comes in off a 4-3 OT loss at Boston on Sunday, the team's third straight setback. The Sabres are battling a flu bug, Tyler Myers, Cody McCormick, Torrey Mitchell, Tyson Strachan, Mike Weber, Matt Moulson and Patrick Kaleta are all effected. Also note that Marcus Foligno and Brian Gionta are out with injury. Not surprisingly, the Sabres are winless in their last four on the road and have struggled on the penalty kill there at 69.8 percent, giving up 16 goals in 53 opportunities. In my opinion, the writing is on the wall, an epic one sided beatdown is in the makings, play on DETROIT on the PUCK LINE.
