This is an 8* BLOWOUT on Arizona State.
Some times a favorite is a favorite for a reason and in my opinion, Arizona State should in fact be a larger one, making the Sun Devils the savvy move in this matchup. Both teams come in disappointed, potentially massive campaigns would fizzle down the stretch for each. While the Blue Devils will be eager to post a second consecutive 10-win season, Arizona State comes in as the "hungrier" team in my opinion, its 35-27 loss to Oregon State cost it a shot at the College Football Playoff: "It's the ultimate bitter taste in our mouths and it's going to last the rest of our lives," lamented Sun Devils' quarterback Mike Bercovici. Duke lost to its biggest rival as well to see its conference title hopes fade away, after losing to Virginia Tech it would then fall 45-20 at home to North Carolina. Both teams feature dangerous offensive weapons, but each was plagued by inconsistent QB play. On paper though, Arizona State is clearly the better team. But as we know, being better on the chalk board doesn't always translate into success on the actual playing field. The bottom line is, I don't think Duke is in the same league as Arizona State, I think the road in the Pac 12 regular season is a much more challenging one. I expect the Sun Devils to come in focused on the task at hand and this factor will prove to be the difference in the outcome; play on ARIZONA STATE.
