This is an 8* O/U COAST-TO-COAST EXPRESS on the UNDER between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers.
A couple of the league's worst teams go head to head on Monday night, in my opinion the conditions are right for a lower-scoring goaltending battle. There's not many positives you can find for either team this year, the Oilers power-play since the All-Star break is one of the few that you can name for the home side. Toronto though is worst in the league with the man advantage since the break, that includes an 0 for 7 effort in Saturday's 4-1 loss at Vancouver. Edmonton will look to rebound after Friday's 5-4 shootout defeat at Columbus vs. a Toronto team which is 1-17-2 in its last 20 road games. Where does the motivation come from for these two teams? And note, these two teams have already played to the UNDER many times in this position this season, as Toronto has seen the total dip below the posted number in 18 of 29 vs. teams with losing records and interestingly in 12 of 22 after scoring one goal or less, while Edmonton has seen the total stay below the number in 16 of 31 after allowing four goals or more in its previous contest. In my opinion, all signs do indeed point to the UNDER as the savvy move in this one.
