Total: 7.50 | -105.00 Over
Result: Win
This is a 10* O/U ART OF THE GAME on the UNDER between the Oakland A's and the Detroit Tigers.
The A's have certainly turned things around over their last ten games behind a starting rotation that's posted a sparkling 1.53 ERA. The visitors look for that trend to continue today and hand the ball to Sonny Gray (6-2, 1.82 ERA) who has given up two runs or less in nine of his 11 total starts (note that Gray has the AL's second best ERA thus far), most recently allowing two runs and four hits over eight innings in his team's 6-2 home win over the Yanks. And note that Gray has been particularly effective on the road over the last two years, in 21 starts he's 9-4 with a 2.45 ERA. The Tigers are trending in the opposite direction, they've lost a season-high five in a row and are looking to avoid their worst slide since 2011. The home side turns to Anibal Sanchez (3-6, 5.75 ERA) who has struggled this year, but who comes in off his best outing thus far, giving up two runs over seven innings in a 2-0 road loss to the Angels on Friday. Sanchez has clearly started to turn the corner with his performance, he has 20 K's over his last two starts and a date vs. the A's is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked, he would yield three earned runs over 15 1/3's innings in two match-ups vs. them last season (note that Detroit has seen the total go UNDER the number in five of six this year after three or more consecutive losses). Play on the UNDER.
