This is a 10* ART OF WAR on the Chicago White Sox.
For the most part MLB handicapping is all about the starting pitching and in this case, I definitely feel we're getting fantastic line value on Chris Sale and the visitors; Sale (6-3, 2.74 ERA) would strike out 14 in a no-decision vs. Texas on Friday. The hard-throwing southpaw has now thrown five consecutive games of 12 K's or more and has to be feeling pretty confident about his chances today as he's a highly respectable 4-2 with a 3.29 ERA in all road contests this year. The home side counters with Phil Hughes (5-6, 4.47 ERA) who would snap a two-game losing streak to beat the Cubs on Friday, ultimately allowing one run on two hits over eight innings. I'd be cautious in reading too much into the start though, Hughes for the most part has struggled with consistency all year long, note that he owns a pedestrian 4.21 home ERA thus far. For this particular selection, my focus is completely on the starting pitching, after the way Sale failed to register a victory in his last outing, I fully expect the White Sox' ace to be focused today and believe that determination will translate into another productive outing; lay the price with confidence on CHICAGO.
