The visitors hand the ball to Chad Bettis (5-4, 4.91 ERA), who one start after allowing a ghastly ten earned runs, would bounce back in an 11-3 win over Atlanta, giving up three earned runs, while striking out eight. Bettis has been hit-or-miss all year though and has for the most part struggled mightily in this spot all season, a pedestrian 2-2 with a 4.55 ERA on the road and a poor 2-2, 6.10 ERA in all "night" games. The home side counters with Tyson Ross (6-7, 3.34 ERA) who is coming off a gem, not allowing a single run over 6 2/3's innings of work in a 2-1 win over the Rangers on Sunday. Ross has looked better of late, but has definitely struggled in this exact spot all year, just 3-4 with a 4.50 ERA in all home games and only 4-6 with a 3.41 ERA in all "night" contests. Considering that both starters have been brutal in this position all season long, we definitely recommend a second look at the OVER in this match-up.
