This is a 5* BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the New York Yankees.
The visitors hand the ball to Kevin Gausman (2-6, 4.59 ERA) who was shelled for four runs off eight hits over just 2 1/3's innings in a fortunate no-decision vs. the Rays on Wednesday. Gausman is a deplorable 1-5 with a 6.28 ERA on the road this year and will obviously have his hands full today facing the hard-hitting Yankees and throwing opposite ace Masahiro Tanaka (11-6, 3.73 ERA) who is coming off a victory despite a sub-par effort, giving up four runs off six hits over 6 1/3's innings with one walk and five K's in a blowout victory over the Red Sox on Wednesday. No need to hit the panic button if you're a Tanaka fan though obviously, the hard-throwing right-hander came into that one having posted five-straight quality starts and he has to be feeling pretty confident in this position as he's posted a respectable 6-3, 3.52 ERA in all "night" games this season. We feel that the talent discrepancy on the mound absolutely justifies in laying this larger price, do so with confidence on the YANKEES.
