This is a big game for both teams obviously, but after their 35-7 setback at Michigan last week, the Beavers will need to lay it all on the line today as they look to close out non-conference play with a win. Oregon State looked decent in the first half vs. the Wolverines, but it would fall apart in the second. Look for the Beavers to air it out today, QB Seth Collins has 171 passing yards and 180 rushing yards through the first two games, most importantly he has zero turnovers. Collins has plenty of weapons, both on the wings and in the backfield and the unit definitely catches a break today as San Jose State's leading tackler, Christian Tago, is expected to miss this game due to a concussion suffered last week. We expect the Beavers' defense to bounce back today as well, keep your eyes on LB Rommel Mageo, who has 19 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and an INT already. The Spartans use a two QB system through the first two games and have some speed on the outside, but note that this is a spot in which the team has struggled mightily in for bettors, just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 as an underdog and only 2-6 ATS in their last eight off a loss vs. a conference rival. And note that Oregon State is 6-2 ATS in its last eight following a loss by 21 points or more. All signs do indeed point to the BEAVERS as the savvy move in this contest.
