Revenge: Cincinnati has suffered three two-point losses this year, but its worst setback of the season was a lacklustre 77-70 loss to Temple on December 29th in front of the home town crowd. It was also the opener of Conference play, so there's no question that the Bearcats will be out to avenge that "brain fart."
Focus: Since the loss to Temple, no UC opponent has reached the 60-point mark: "That game was probably the game looking back on it that was ‘enough is enough,'" assistant coach Larry Davis assessed of the setback to the Owls. "We just weren't very active on the ball. We weren't pressuring the ball. After the Temple game, that's really in practice all we worked on."
Playing over their heads: There is an old saying: The sun has to shine on a dog's butt every now and then. The Owls had an exceptional game vs. the Bearcats, but that type of performance is not the norm, the team ranks last in the league in field goal percentage (.402), second last in field goal percentage defense (.414) and second last in rebounding margin at minus 0.2.
