This is an 8* ASSASSIN on UL Lafayette.

The Ragin' Cajuns meet Texas State in San Marcos, Texas this week before returning home for a conference matchup vs. Arkansas State next Tuesday. Lafeyette is 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the Sun Belt, while the Bobcats are 3-2 and 1-0 in Conference. When these teams met last year, the Cajuns would cruise for a 48-24 victory. A lot has happened between now and then, and while I do believe the "revenge factor" is a very real thing in some circumstances, in this particular one I don't. Lafayette won't be caught looking ahead and it certainly won't be complacent, it's been a tough start to the year, but after going into its break with a victory, the visitors come in confident and focused in my opinion. From a situational stand point, this is a solid play. Both teams also come in off their bye week, which eliminates any home field advantage from scheduling for Texas State. The Bobcats have won two straight vs. Idaho and a triple OT marathon over Tulsa on September 27th. This will be a big test for the Cajuns, the Bobcats have a good offense which averages almost 500 YPG, QB Tyler Jones has passed for 1,149 yards and rushed for 253. But as mentioned off the top, Lafayette snapped its three-game slide with a win over Georgia State in its last game, clearly having star WR Jamal Robinson back in the line-up was crucial as the senior returned from injury to catch eight passes for 119 yards and two TD's; note that Robinson dominated the Bobcats last year as well with four catches for 114 yards and two TD's. Also note, after struggling with turning the ball over to start the year, the Cajuns had zero vs. Georgia State. The Bobcats are weak on the defensive side of the ball, and with added attention put on Robinson for obvious reasons, the run game will be able to get untracked. Note that Lafayette is 5-3 ATS in its last eight following a bye week, while Texas State is just 1-2 ATS in front of the home town crowd this year. While the outright win is obviously not out of the question, I will in the end recommend grabbing as many points as you can; play on LAFAYETTE.
