AAA's THU NIGHT O/U SUPER-BLOWOUT *Jets/Patriots!*
(NFL) NY Jets vs. New England,
Total: 46.00 | -110.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is an 8* SUPER-BLOWOUT on the UNDER between the New York Jets and the New England Patriots.

On what is expected to be a wet and wild night, I look for these two teams to combine for a hard-fought UNDER. The Jets will obviously be hungry here as they've lost five in a row and they'll catch a bit of a break as the Pats are dealing with a couple of significant injuries. Here is New York coach Rex Ryan: "My message is pretty simple: Hey, we might be counted out, (but) we're not dead," he said earlier in the week. "We are going to fight our tails off." The main issue for the Jets is offensive consistency, particularly under center as Geno Smith has completed just 57.1 percent of his passes, thrown six TDs to seven INTs and has an NFL-low 69.7 passer rating; Smith was only 32 of 68 for 447 yards, one TD to four INTs while getting sacked eight times in splitting two games with the Pats in 2013. Clearly if the Jets offense is going to perform, the run game needs to be established as the unit has totaled just 122 yards over the last two games: "We're built to run," Ryan confirmed. "I think we've just got to stay the course with it and see what happens." Pats' QB Tom Brady has won six straight regular-season home games vs. the Jets while posting a 101.3 rating in the last five. After a shaky start to the year, Brady has been excellent since, but as noted off the top, his offense will now have to work without the services of RB Stevan Ridley, who suffered a knee injury that will sideline him for the rest of the year. Note that the Jets have seen the total go UNDER the number in five of their last eight after two or more consecutive losses, while the Patriots have seen the total dip below the posted number in eight of their last 14 vs. division opponents. The situation, the weather report, the trends and the numbers all point to the UNDER as the sharp wager in this one.
