Point Spread: 1.00 | -110.00 Pittsburgh (Home)

This is an 8* ACC ASSASSIN on Pittsburgh.
I jumped on this line the second it came out and have Pittsburgh +3. The Panthers now find themselves the slight favorite, but regardless, I think the home side will pull away down the stretch for the comfortable ATS cover. Pittsburgh has beaten Virginia Tech in six of the last seven in the series and with a chance to keep that streak alive, and to also avoid a four-game losing streak at the same time, I like the home side to find a way to get the job done here. The Panthers would fall apart in the final moments in a 24-19 setback at Virginia two weeks ago. Virginia Tech has won its last two games before the bye week after dropping two in a row at home. Last year the Hokies had a 10-0 lead over Pitt in the first quarter and a 16-3 lead at the end of the third en route to a 19-9 home win over the Panthers as seven-point favorites. But note that the Panthers are 4-1 SU the last five in this series and 6-1 ATS in the past seven games between the teams. To become bowl eligible, both teams need to string some wins together, but home field is a big advantage here and with games vs. Georgia Tech and Duke as part of a five-game stretch that sees Pitt play four at home, a victory today would go a long way in making its postseason chances a reality. Note that VT is just 4-10 ATS in its last 14 on the road. All signs point to PITTSBURGH as the sharp wager in this contest.
