The Chicago Cubs look to deny the surging San Francisco Giants a three-game sweep here Wednesday afternoon, and even though they're a rather sizable favorite I still think they'll prove well worth the price.

Today, the Cubs hand the ball to left-hander Jon Lester (9-6, 3.87 ERA) who is 5-1 with a superb 2.00 ERA in six starts against the Giants who turn to right-hander Tyler Beede (3-3, 4.70 ERA) who will face the Cubs for the first time. Beede might very well fall flat here after three height scoreless innings last time out.

There's no denying that the Giants have been the hotter team of late with 10 wins in their past 11 games, but with the Cubs looking to avoid the sweep and 7-3 in their last 10 games after losing the first two games of a series I'm still going with the away team here.
