The Coach's MLB Very Early SURE SHOT - 9-1 MLB RUN!
(MLB) Atlanta vs. Washington,
Point Spread: 1.50 | -147.00 Atlanta (Away)
Result: Win
The Washington Nationals can complete the sweep of a three-game set against NL East rival Atlanta Braves this afternoon. They're coming in red hot having won nine of their last 11 games, but I think they'll struggle to cover the run-line here against a Braves team that has done well against the run-line on the season.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Pitching - The Braves will hand the ball to Alex Wood (1-2, 4.32 ERA) who picked up his lone "W" of the season so far in his season debut at Miami and he's done well away from home all season. He's 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA over three road-starts and has despite a disappointing start against the Nats on April 29 fared quite well against the Nats over his career going 3-2 with a 2.40 ERA in seven meetings. The Nats will counter with Jordan Zimmerman (2-2, 4.15 ERA) who surrendered four runs on eight hits over seven innings when he pitched against Wood earlier in the season. He has struggled in each of his two day starts on the year surrendering a total of 14 runs (12 earned) on 23 hits over 15 1/3 innings of work.

2. Keeping It Close - Atlanta is 9-5 with the run-line away from home this season while Washington is just 7-8 when asked to cover the run-line at home.

3. X-Factor - The Braves are 5-2 in Woods last seven starts versus the Nationals.

Selection: This is a play on the Atlanta Braves +1.5 (8*)
