The Coach's MLB "ACE OFF" - Samardzija vs. Price
(MLB) Chi White Sox vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -168.00 Detroit (Home)
Result: Win
This four-game set at Comerica Park between the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox has been cut down to a three-game series after yesterday's game got cancelled due to inclement weather. The teams are tied at 1-1 in the series, and we should see the home-team prevail in the rubber-match this afternoon.

Here are my keys to the game:

1 Pitching - The White Sox will hand the ball to Jeff Samardzija (5-4, 4.53 ERA) who's coming off his first win in six starts when he conceded two runs on eight hits in seven innings at Minnesota. The Shark has been surrendering a lot of hits lately and the Tigers have the offensive firepower to make him pay, just as they did back on June 7 when they reached him for six runs on 10 hits in 7 1/3 frames. The Tigers will counter with David Price (7-2, 2.42 ERA) who's 4-1 with a 1.22 ERA in his last six starts. One of those starts was against the White Sox when he tossed nine nine innings of one run-ball at U.S. Cellular Field earlier this month.

2. Situational - The White Sox have won only one of their last nine as an underdog and one of their last five versus a left-handed starter. The Tigers have won 11 straight versus AL Central opponents with Price on the mound.

3. X-Factor - The White Sox have lost 10 of their last 13 away from home.

Selection: This is a play on the Detroit Tigers (9*)
