The Coach's MLB Gourmet *HOME COOKIN'*
(MLB) Miami vs. San Diego,
Money Line: -145.00 San Diego (Home)
Result: Loss
The San Diego Padres are coming off back-to-back losses against the Giants while the Miami Marlins are off a pair of wins against the D'backs. I still like the Padres to come out tonight's as winners.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Pitching - The Marlins will hand the ball to Tom Koehler (7-6, 3.38 ERA) who's been roughed up in his last two starts surrendering a total of eight runs on eight hits with three homers over 12 innings of work. He's pitched poorly away from home this season going 3-5 with a 4.85 ERA in 10 road-starts. The Padres will counter with Tyson Ross (6-7, 3.38 ERA) who's been sharp of late going 3-0 with a 2.23 ERA in his last six starts. He held Miami to one run on four hits while fanning eight over seven innings of work last season.

2. Miami's Injuries - The Fish are still without Dee Gordon and Giancarlo Stanton, Stanton was leading the league in home runs and RBIs when he went down, and Gordon was near the top of the majors batting .338.

3. X-Factor - Ross has surrendered a major league-low 0.23 homers per nine innings so far this season.

Selection: This is a play on the San Diego Padres (8*)
