1* free play on the Arizona D'Backs...
The Cincinnati Reds have lost six straight and nine of their last 11. They're involved in a battle with the Milwaukee Brewers to avoid the last place in the NL Central but they've shown little motivation of late. The Arizona D'backs defeated them 5-4 in the opener of a four-game series last night and the D'backs are looking good to claim tonight's contest as well.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Pitching - The Reds hand the ball to David Holmberg (1-2, 5.95 ERA) who was lit up for seven runs on five hits while yielding four walks in just two innings his last start. He's made just four starts on the year, having issues with his control in each allowing a total of 13 free passes. The D'backs will counter with Rubby De La Rosa (10-5, 4.40 ERA) who's been hot since the All Star break going 4-0 with a 2.54 ERA in six starts. He's 3-4 with a 4.66 ERA in 12 road-starts this season but has held opponents to a total of three runs on nine hits and seven walks over his last 12 frames away from home.

2. Situational - The Reds have won just two of their last 10 when facing a right-handed starter and they're 0-5 in their last five games as an underdog. The D'backs meanwhile have won eight of their last 10 when visiting a team with a losing record.

3. X-Factor - The Reds traded left fielder Marlon Byrd to the Giants on Thursday for minor league pitcher Stephen Johnson. Either Brennan Boesch (.136 AVG) or Jason Bourgeois (.235 AVG) will take Byrd's spot in the lineup.
