The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will travel to Clemson to take on the Tigers in a huge game for both teams this Saturday night. The Irish are on the cusp of being a playoff contender, and a win here would likely put them in the Top 4. It won't be easy though, as the Tigers have playoff aspirations of their own.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Clemson's Defense - The Tigers finished last season with the top rated defense in the country, allowing opponents to average just 260 yards per game. So far this season they have allowed an average of 261 yards per game, and just 12.3 points.

2. Previous History - The Tigers have failed to reach the total in seven of their last eight home games, and seven straight versus an opponent with a winning record. The Irish have gone under in 19 of their last 26 versus ACC teams.

3. X-Factor - The weather conditions at Death Valley will be less than ideal, with wind and rain expected on Saturday night.
