California rivals the San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings will open the 2015/2016 season with a meeting at Staples Center. Virtually all of last season's match-ups were low-scoring affairs and there are plenty of reasons to believe that this game will go under the total as well.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Goaltending - Only a total of 22 goals were scored over the five meetings last season, much thanks to outstanding goaltending. Jonathan Quick posted a 2.17 GAA with a .921 SV% while Antti Niemi had a 1.78 GAA with a .942 SV%.

2. The Kings Preseason - Los Angeles has conceded only eight goals over its six games in the pre-season and shut out the Avalanche in the dress rehearsal on Oct. 3.

3. X-Factor - The under is 8-2-2 in the Kings last 12 home games.
