The Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers will close out this season series with a home-and-home set over back-to-back nights. There is no doubt that the Clippers have dominated this rivalry in recent seasons, but the Lakers can give their all in these two match-ups while Clippers have the playoffs in mind. I'm backing the more motivated Lakers.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Kobe Bryant - The Lakers' icon will be pumped up for his last two rivalry games. He's coming in hot fresh off his second-highest point total of the season with 34 in Sunday's 107-100 home defeat to the Celtics.
2. Home Woes - The Clippers have a tendency of playing down to their opposition home at Staples Center and they're just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. The Lakers have covered the spread in four of their last five overall against teams with a winning record.
3. X-Factor - The Clippers clinched home-court advantage for the first round of the Western Conference playoffs Sunday. Coach Doc Rivers will probably be tempted to rest key players.
