The Oakland A's are coming off a three game sweep of the Mariners in Seattle, and they look to stay hot in Game 1 of a home series versus the Angels tonight. This looks like a favorable pitching match-up for the home team, and my money is on Oakland.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The A's will send ace Sonny Gray to the hill, and the 26 year old was dominant in his Opening Day start. He allowed just one run on three hits while fanning five in seven innings. He's had plenty of success against the Angels, going 5-2 with a 3.18 ERA in 10 starts over the last three seasons.
2. Batter vs. Pitcher - Sonny hasn't had any troubles with Mike Trout, who is batting just .179 with a whopping 11 strikeouts in 28 career at Bats.
3. X-Factor - Oakland is 6-2 in it's last eight home games when Sonny Gray starts.
