The Sharks won a back and forth battle in Game 1 of this playoff series versus the Kings, but they can't exactly be feeling too comfortable about their lead. After all, the Kings came back from a 3-0 series deficit against the Sharks in the first round two years ago. I like LA to respond with a win on home ice in Game 2.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. History - The Kings have a psychological advantage after rallying back from a 3-0 series deficit two years ago to eliminate the Sharks on their way to the Stanley Cup trophy. That kind of determination and resilience still remains in this Kings' team with several core-players from that episode still on the roster.

2. Situational - The Kings are 11-5 in their last 16 home games, and they've won six of their last eight when coming off a home loss.

3. X-Factor - The Sharks have lost 12 of the last 17 meetings at Staples Center.
