Rogers' 10* NFL Game of the Week >> 10-5 Since Tuesday!
(NFL) Buffalo vs. Los Angeles,
Point Spread: -1.00 | -110.00 Buffalo (Away)
Result: Win
Buffalo: The Bills opened the season with a 13-6 loss at Baltimore and then the defense got ‘lit up' by Fitzgerald and the Jets the following Thursday, losing 37-31. However, "big mouth" Rex's team has sure played well the last two games, beating the Cardinals 33-18 and then shutting out the Pats 16-0 in Foxboro (first time New England has been shut out at home since 1993). Buffalo has the 31st ranked passing attack in the NFL, which leaves them ranked 28th in overall offense (307.0 YPG). However, after a slow start, the running game has come around and now checks in seventh (123.2 YPG), after leading the NFL last season at 152.0 YPG. The defense is allowing 17.0 PPG (6th) but note that other than the ‘hiccup' vs. the Jets (allowed 37 points), the Bills have allowed a total of just 31 points in their other three contests.

LA Rams: After losing their season-opener 28-0 at San Francisco (MNF), the Rams' return to LA (after a 21-year stay in St. Louis) has been a success. LA is far from perfect (to say the least) but has somehow won three in a row, including wins over Super Bowl contenders Seattle (9-3) and Arizona (17-13). The Rams are 30th overall in passing (192.2 YPG) and 30th in rushing (76.8 YPG) which leaves them with the worst overall offense in the NFL (269.0 YPG). Case Keenum is completing just 55.4 percent and owns a pathetic 77.3 QB rating. RB Todd Gurley was a star as a rookie (1106 yards & 10 TDs) but he's got just 216 yards through four games (single-game high of 85),while averaging a horrific 2.6 YPC. The Rams own an excellent defensive front and that unit played very well against Seattle and Arizona but not so much against the 49ers and Bucs (go figure).

The pick: Is it possible that this Case Keenum led team (with no running game) can make it four straight wins? The Bills are coming off back-to-back wins and travel cross-country, so they are not in a favorable situation. However, while it's fair to say the Bills offense is pretty simplistic to defend with playmaking WR Sammy Watkins out, this Buffalo team is an overall better unit than the Rams. Buffalo has to know that wins over the Cards and Pats (both played in conference championship games last season) will mean little here, if the Bills "let one get away" vs. the Rams. Buffalo is a 10* play.
