Rogers' 10* West Coast WIPEOUT
(NCAAB) Gonzaga vs. Portland,
Point Spread: 15.50 | -104.00 Portland (Home)
Result: Push
The set: Gonzaga is ranked 5th in the latest AP poll and takes a 15-0 record (the school's best-ever start to a season) into Portland tonight for a WCC game with the Pilots, who are 9-6 overall, including 2-1 in WCC play.

Gonzaga: The Bulldogs are 3-0 to open WCC play and while they lost three starters from last year, including Wiltjer (20.4 & 6.3) and Sabonis (17.6 & 11.8), they seemingly haven't missed a beat. "We know we're on a special ride a little bit," guard Nigel Williams-Goss said after he scored a career-high 36 points and had 11 rebounds and six assists in a 95-80 win at San Francisco on Thursday. "I'm reminding our guys before every game, 'This is a special season. Let's not take any game or opportunity for granted. Just try to play hard every night play and give ourselves the best chance to win." Williams-Goss sat out last year after transferring from Washington and leads the team with 15.3 PPG. He's joined by Mathews, a graduate transfer from Cal, who averages 11.0 PPG and the returning 7-1 Przemek Karnowski (12.5 & 6.3), who is back after missing most of last year with an injury. Gonzaga has eight players averaging 15 MPG and contributing between 5.1 and 15.3 PPG, including 7-0 freshman Zach Collins (10.1 & 5.2), who NBA scouts reportedly believe is the Bulldogs' best prospect. Collins is shooting 71.2 percent from the floor.

Portland: The Pilots are coached by former NBA standout guard Terry Porter. Portland opened 2-0 in the WCC but lost 70-42 at Santa Clara on Thursday night and now Porter's team hosts Gonzaga tonight and No. 19 St. Mary's on Wednesday. The Pilots do have one of the most potent backcourts in the WCC though, with Alec Wintering (21.0-4.8-6.1) and Jazz Johnson (17.7). However, Portland can't come close to matching Gonzaga's depth, as the 6-8 Taylor (13.7 & 6.5) is the Pilots only other double digit scorer.

The pick: Death and taxes, plus Gonzaga in the NCAA tourney, are a few of life's ''sure things!" Few is 17-for-17 in leading his team to the Big Dance and this year will be no different but for tonight, the home dog gets to 'bark' with all these points. Portland is a 10* play.
