The set-up: Boston College (17-13 / 7-10 ACC) will visit Tallahassee on Saturday to take on the 19-10 Florida State Seminoles, who are 8-9 in ACC play. A win by FSU will and a two-game losing streak and could perhaps earn the Seminoles a first-round bye in the upcoming ACC tournament. However, a loss to Boston College could put the Seminoles on the outside looking in at the NCAA Tournament picture. The Eagles topped Florida State at home earlier this season, and are coming off Wednesday's 85-70 win over Syracuse, dealing a big blow to the Orange's NCAA tourney hopes.
Boston College: The Eagles bounced back against Syracuse after a late-game collapse at Miami (Fla.). The star guard tandem of Jerome Robinson (21.0) and Ky Bowman (16.7 & 4.8 APG) combined for 45 points in the win over the Orange, as the Eagles picked up their seventh conference win, one more than the previous three seasons combined. Guard Jordan Chatman (12.8) added 18 points as Boston College made 14-of-27 from three-point range, while matching its second-best offensive showing in ACC play. However, the win came with a cost. 6-8 freshman Steffon Mitchell, the team's leading rebounder with 7.9 per contest, left the game due to a hamstring injury and returned to the bench on crutches. His loss would be huge, as the 6-8 Hawkins (12.4 & 9.1) was lost for the season to a knee injury back in December.
Florida State: The 6-8 Phil Cofer (13.4 & 5.3) scored 21 points at Clemson, while the team's leading scorer, Terance Mann (13.5 & 5.1), was held to just three points on 1-of-9 shooting as he continued to slump. Mann may still be the etam's leading scorer but he is averaging just 6.3 points while making 1-of-10 from three-point range over a six-game stretch. Guard Angola (12.3) is the team's only other double digit scorer. However, the this FSU squad is deep and the Seminoles are averaging 81.9 PPG (31st). Giving Cofer help up front are the 7-4 Koumadje (7.9 & 4.9) and the 6-9 Kabengele (6.9 & 4.5).

Hamilton is eager to end his team's two-game losing streak and regain some momentum heading into upcoming ACC tourney. BC is just 2-9 SU on thee road, where the Eagles are averaging just 69.7 PPG.
