The set-up: I think the home side on the "run line" is the correct call in this Sunday night match-up. The visitors hand the ball to Ross Stripling, while the Cards go with Adam Wainwright.

The pitchers: Stripling is so far 8-3 with a 2.61 ERA. Stripling's back in the rotation out of necessity and he's done exceptionally well whenever he's been given the chance this season. Stripling's been great, I simply feel that he and his team are over-priced in this spot against the hungry home side.

Wainwright is so far 1-3 with a 4.70 ERA. He returned from the DL on Monday and gave up four runs while striking out three in a fortunate win over the Pirates. Clearly Wainwright has seen better days, but the veteran will be given every opportunity by the club during its playoff push.

The pick: Take it for what you will as well, but St. Louis is 7-2 in its last nine night National League home games in which the line in the contest is set between -150 and +150. Grab the Cards on the "run line."
