The set-up: No need to overthink this one in my opinion. The Islanders looked flat in Game 1 vs. Carolina after an extra few days off from dispatching the Penguins, while the Hurricanes somehow managed to find the energy to win 1-0 in OT after a seven game series victory over Washington, including a double OT Game 7. However, with the "split" accomplished, I think the Hurricanes have a predictable letdown here. The Isles though have no excuses and I expect a much better effort on both ends of the ice. Note that NY took three of the four regular season match-ups.

The pick: Take it for what you will as well, but Carolina is still just 2-6 in its last eight as a road dog in the +110 to +150 range, while New York is 7-2 in its last nine home games after scoring one goal or less in its previous outing. Lay the price.
