The set-up: A clear mismatch on the mound makes this a price in which I have no issues at all in laying. The Dodgers hand the ball to ace Clayton Kershaw, while the Padres go with Eric Lauer. And with only 1.5 games separating the clubs right now, clearly the hard-hitting visiting side won't be taking anything for granted.

The pitchers: Kershaw (1-0, 2.25 ERA) gave up one run off four hits while striking out eight over seven innings in a win over the Pirates on Saturday, giving up zero walks.

Lauer (2-3, 4.41) has been all over the map with his consistency this season and I think that trend continues in this tough matchup.

The pick: While they're 11-6 on the road, note that the Padres are only 7-8 at home. For all the reasons listed above, play on the Dodgers.
