(MLB) Atlanta vs. NY Mets,
Total: 8.00 | -105.00 Under
Result: Win
The set-up: Atlanta is surging towards the finish line of the half way point and it'll be eager to complete the series sweep here after coming from behind late last night to win 5-4. The Mets won't be rolling over though obviously after losing seven straight. Two competent hurlers go head to head in this one, but I still think this one sets up as more of a "slug-fest" than a duel. The Braves go with Max Fried, while the home side counters with Noah Syndergaard.

The pitchers: Fried (9-3, 3.96 ERA) comes in having won back-to-back starts, but if he's had one weakness this year it's definitely been his play on the road, where his ERA balloons to 4.70.

Syndergaard (5-4, 4.55) has been hit or miss this season and he makes a tough start here in his first appearance after being on the IL for the last 14 days with a strained left hamstring.

The pick: New York's bullpen has been terrible, which is bad news for the ailing Syndegaard (note that the Mets' bullpen has posted a 7.62 ERA in June.) As mentioned off the top, I think the writing is on the wall and a higher-scoring "slug-fest" is in the cards.
