(MLB) Pittsburgh vs. LA Angels,
Money Line: -143.00 LA Angels (Home)
Result: Loss
The set-up: These teams are moving in opposite directions. The Pirates come in having lost eight straight and they're just 4-24 since the All-Star break. Pittsburgh had an 8-4 lead after six innings in St. Louis last night and it still lost 11-9. And after losing eight in a row, the Angels come in having won back-to-back, including yesterday's 5-4, ten-inning effort over the Red Sox. Mitch Keller gets the nod for the visitors on the bump, while the home side goes with Jose Suarez.

The pitchers: Keller (0-1, 10.50 ERA) has been recalled from Triple A to make his fourth major league start of his career. Keller gave up six runs over each of his first two trips to the hill.

Suarez (2-3, 6.22) enters having lost two straight, giving up ten runs over his last ten innings of work.

The pick: For arguments sakes, let's call these volatile starters a "wash." Suarez does benefit though from throwing at home and note that Pittsburgh is a a terrible 7-17 in its last 24 interleague road games as an underdog in the +135 to +165 range. I like Mike Trout and company to build off their back-to-back wins over Boston with another big performance at the plate and in front of the home town crowd. Consider the Angels on Monday.
