The set-up: Two competent hurlers square off in this National League contest on Tuesday night and in my opinion, runs are DEFINITELY going to be at a premium. The visitors hand the ball to ace Jacob deGrom, while the home side goes with Max Scherzer.

The pitchers: deGrom (8-8, 2.66 ERA) comes in off a rare poor effort, allowing four runs over seven innings in a 4-1 loss to the Cubs. Overall though he's 8-4 with a tiny 2.33 ERA in 18 career starts vs. Washington.

Scherzer (9-5, 2.46) is 10-5 with a 2.47 ERA in 20 games vs. New York lifetime.

The pick: The Mets won 7-3 in last night's opener, but I think the stage is set for a classic "duel" with these two stud starters facing off. Consider the "under" in this one.
