The Lightning are on a back to back, and were mauled severely by the Panthers last night. Down to their fourth line goaltender, who did not fair well in closing out the third period, they are out of the frying pan and into the fire as far as NHL offenses go. The Rangers have struggled of late, but are better rested, have Shesterkin back in the net, and have some high-powered scorers who will take advantage of a suspect goalie. The Rangers are much the healthier team at the moment. Why does this virus seem to pick on defensemen? The Rangers really need a victory, and this is a great opportunity to put it to the front-runners. Take the underdog Rangers tonight! Oh, and a very happppy New Year!
