The streaking Mariners have taken 2 straight on the road from the Rangers, and send out Logan Gilbert today. Gilbert is 10-3 with an ERA of under 3 and 100 strike outs. He faces the Rangers' Spencer Howard, recently back from the farm, and sporting a hefty ERA. Howard was solid in his last start, but roughed up in his previous outing. He hasn't pitched past the 5th, which throws the pressure on a very poor and overworked Rangers bullpen. My only concern here is Gilberts' habit of allowing too many hits. In his last three starts, he has twice given up 4 runs over 6 innings. The Rangers have a solid offense, given the opportunity, but struggle to hold a lead. Both of Howards' last starts ended up with run totals close to double figures. Take today's Mariners/Rangers game to go over the total.
